If your idea of a log home is a one room cabin in the woods with a dirt floor and a guest house with a half moon on the door, think again. The modern log home has all the spaciousness, style and convenience of any contemporary home. It heats and cools more efficiently then standard wood frame homes and provides a coziness only found in the warmth of wood. Log home building is a labor of love and log home turnover is much lower then other homes.

So what makes them so unique? That can only be answered by a tour through a log home. Eventually I hope to provide a virtual tour of my own log home, in the meantime check out these snapshots.

If you know someone who owns a log home ask if you can take a tour. One warning though, mention the word "log" to a log home owner and they will talk for hours on their favorite subject.
