Windows onto the World

HURD delivered the windows today and we will store them in our storage trailer until needed. Normally Wilderness Log Homes provides HURD windows with your log home package, however we had a local HURD dealer that could give us a better deal. This not only save us around $2000.00 but the local dealer will handle problems that may arise during the life of our windows. I really enjoyed working with the HURD dealer, he was friendly, knowledgeable, timely and accommodating.

We shopped around for other windows but the quality of HURD windows is really unsurpassed. Our Windows are Ultraviolet and Heat protective with a total "R" value of 4 (Low-E) on the north, east and west Sides of the House. We were concerned that all the windows on the south side of the house would really heat the Great Room so we went to the next level up with a total "R" value of 6 (Heat-Mirror 88) on the south.

I just have to make sure the builder puts the correct windows on the correct side of the house!
