Phase 2 of the plumbing began with the rough in. The plumbers seen in this photo are installing PVC for drainage and soil waste. Just to the right you can see the Lenox high efficiency furnace connected to the ductwork overhead. The general order of construction at this point is furnace & ductwork, rough-in plumbing, rough-in electrical & sheetrock. This order reflects the decreasing difficulty of installation (i.e. its a lot easier to move a wire then a duct). The kids loved playing with loose PVC piping, this stuff is even better then building blocks and so they quickly apprenticed themselves as journeyman plumbers.
