Rafters and Front Dormer.
July 15, 1996
Well its taken only a couple of days to get the rafters and dormer up. The rafters are not your typical truses you might find at the local lumber yard but rather hand built from 2x12 lumber. Just another example of the quality of construction were getting. When we insulate these rafters with 12" batt insulation we will have a roof "R" value of 42. The 2x6 perimter walls are 16" off center and will be insulated with an 6inch bat, 5/8" R-board and wrapped in 8" of log with an "R" value of 32. These is obviously an very energy efficient house and this is standard Wilderness construction. I am very impressed with the quality of construction. The carpenters also have a good start on the interior second floor bedroom and bathroom framing.
